As part of the Web Security Service reporting migration to the new Elastic Analytics & Reporting solution, the current log download compression format used for log ingestion into an on-premise Symantec Reporter solution has been updated to be more compatible with compression industry standards. The recently released Reporter patch release contains support for the new log compression update.

Please Note:
No changes have been made to the more commonly utilized log Sync API used to obtain WSS logs for ingestion into a customer-owned SIEM.

Customer Impact
If you are currently downloading logs into Symantec Reporter from Web Security Service, please update to Reporter release before July 5, 2020. No changes or updates are required within the Web Security Service.
